Sat 26th Sept U15A Camogie Final Aghada 2- 3 Sarsfields 1-5

The U15A final was played in Ballinacurra on the 26th September. Aghada U15 beat Fr O Neils, Youghal and Cobh to reach the final. This was a great camogie final with both teams fully committed. Both teams were well able to strike and the sliotar travelled up and down the field at pace. Aghada got into their stride faster and registered a goal after 10 minutes.Sars responded with a fine point. Aghada put 3 further points over the bar before the half time whistle but missed a number of goal chances heading towards half time due to the outstanding Sar defence who kept the seasiders out. Half time score Aghada 1-03 to 0-01.

Sars came out second half more determined and registered the first 2 points of the second half. Aghada battled back and scored a goal. This left 2 goals between the teams heading into the last 20 minutes. Sars made some key positional changes and started to win exchanges around midfield and the supply to the Aghada forwards dried up. Sars were in control and their forwards started to dominate only for Aghada goalkeeper Roisin O' Callaghan to deny Sars by pulling off a number remarkable saves. Eventually the goal came with 5 minutes left in the match. Sars pointed a further 2 points to leave a minimum between the sides. In the final minutes every ball was fiercely contested and as time ran out Aghada held out. Final score Aghada 2-03 to Sars 1-05. We will to thank all the supporters and parents who attended the match. Training continuing on Wednesday evening. Next up is the U14/16

Aghada Juvenile GAA Club would like to thank John Cremin  Super Valu Midleton for presenting Juvenile Chairman Mikey Brien and our four Juvenile Players Eoghan, Tomas, Cian and Tom with The Super Valu GAA Football Kits.
