Willie Ryan Hurling U12 Tournament:

On Saturday September 12th Aghada GAA hosted the annual Willie Ryan U12 hurling tournament in Rostellan. The Fr O’ Neills, Tracton, Castlelyons, Carraig na bhFear and Aghada teams arrived early on a glorious sunny morning to compete in very entertaining games, full of skill and great determination. The final was won by Carraig na bhFear in a great match V Fr. O’ Neills. Thanks to the players, referees, mentors, parents and Aghada Juvenile Committee for their help on the day. A special word of to the parents who provided the catering for all players and supporters.

Child Protection in Sport Awareness Workshop:

On Thursday September 24th Aghada Juvenile GAA Club held a Child Protection Course in Rostellan. As it is mandatory for all mentors of Juvenile Players to complete this course a full attendance was very much appreciated. A further course will be held later in the season to facilitate the large numbers that are awaiting same. Thanks to Gill Berry - Aghada GAA Child Protection Officer for arranging course.

As the evening are closing in, and the games are getting fewer, it is time for the talent to be displayed on stage instead of the field. Thanks to everyone involved in East Cork Scor for proving the opportunity to so many young and

not so young to get involved in singing, dancing , instrumental, recitation, novelty act and question time. More details to follow.

We would like our supporters to travel to U16 football County championship semi-final, minor hurling/football semi-final of County League games and all Aghada Juveniles games to be played in the coming weeks. Date and times to confirmed.

Well done to Roisin Phelan and Emma Farmer and everyone involved with the Cork, on their brilliant achievement winning another All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football title. Thanks to Anne Marie Mc Allister and Barry Moran for organising the trip from Rostellan to Croke Park and for the great experience of so many Aghada players and supporters to be part of this historic occasion.
