St Colman’s

History was made on Wednesday 23rd Sept in Fermoy when St Colman’s minor hurlers captured the Premier 2 hurling championship for the first time in their short history.

This was a magnificent game of hurling with the result in doubt right up to the final whistle but substitute Eoghan Cronin’s point proved to be the match winner getting us over the line by a single point 1.15 to 17 pts.

Congratulations to the entire panel of players and to the very dedicated team management on an excellent result which coupled with the recent U13 success has proven to be a very successful year for the St Colman’s hurlers.

Intermediate League;

We played Blarney on Saturday evening last but with a depleted team in fact only the bare 15 we were no match for the home team who certainly wanted the result more than us.

Final score Cloyne 2.08 Blarney 1.23. This result puts an end to our chances of reaching a league final for 2015.

Ladies Football;

Congratulations to the Cork Ladies Footballers who won an unprecedented 10th All-Ireland title in 11 years over the week-end with a 2 point victory over Dublin.

A remarkable feat for a remarkable team led by Eamonn Ryan and considering that before their first success in 2005 they hadn’t won a single title its obvious where credit for this success lies.

East Cork Final;

The recently held East Cork Final which was won in style by Dungourney proved to be a great success. Many comments were received about the quality of the pitch and match day preperations.Our gratitude to the many people that helped out on the day as stewards and it just goes to show what can be achieved when we all put our shoulder to the wheel.
