St Colmans are premier 2 county champions

Congratulations and very well done to all concerned in garnering our second county hurling title in a few short weeks as our Minors overcame Charleville by the barest of margins after a titanic battle. To all the mentors and players a great reward after a long years effort. We are also in the league semi final to be played in the coming weeks.

East Cork Junior B football Final

Ballinacurra 2-13 Russell Rovers 0-8

As the scoreline shows a fairly comprehensive win for the "Village". However with 15 to go only a goal was in it, Ballinacurra raced into an early lead thru their slicker forwards, we hung in there with some good passages ourselves thru Kevin Tattan and Ricky Walsh, we were only 5 down at halftime, a spurt after the break gave us a lift and we closed to within a goal, but the villagers just upped it again in midfield and powered away to a finish. Overall a lack of collective scoring power and defensive ineptitude was the critical factor in this final.
Chris Ruddy & goalkeeper Mick Mannion were the standout performers with Chris scoring 0-7 of our total and Mick saving 3 clear goal chances. Well done to the Village and we wish them all the best in the County series this week.
