Junior A Hurling County Quarter Final Dungourney 1-20 Harbour Rovers 0-11

A good win in the end but it wasn’t all plain sailing as the scoreline suggests the first half especially a tough scrappy affair. We started well with Ryan Denny pointing a free inside the first minute. Harbour Rovers responded with two points one from play one from a free. Shane Hegarty scored a point from play after neat interplay with Niall Motherway. A Harbour Rovers 65 put them back in front, Ryan equalised with another free. Harbour Rovers pointed again, Niall and Shane Casey both fired over points putting us into the lead. Two scores for both sides from frees kept us ahead by the minimum Ryan with both. Niall pointed again from play with Harbour Rovers replying with their own score from play. The only goal of the game came next a high ball in to the square from Bill Ahern was dropped by the keeper to the net. Harbour Rovers pointed from play again to leave the score at the short whistle Dungourney 1-8 Harbour Rovers 0-8.

Some decent passing from defense to attack led to Shane Hegarty pointing from play, Ryan adding a free a minute later. A free from Harbour Rovers opened their second half account. We started to get on top and were winning a lot of battles around the field and raised four white flags in a row. Bill, Shane, James McCarthy and a free from Ryan the scorers. Harbour Rovers pointed from another free. Kenneth Kelleher got his name on the scoresheet pointing from play after a quick Jack Griffin free found Kenneth in space. The two Shanes both pointed long range from play Hegarty and Casey. Ryan slotted over two more frees and Shane Hegarty got his fifth from play, Harbour Rovers pointed a free to finish the game.
