Cork County Division 3 Intermediate Football League away v Kinsale

Venue Kinsale

Kinsale 0-9

Glenville 2-6

Glenville’s intermediate football team had a three point win after a tough a physical match against a Strong Kinsale side when this round eight league tie was played in the wet and dampened conditions on away soil. Glenville decide to play against the light breeze in the first half and from the start the weather conditions proved to be a big factor in the game as both teams found it hard to get a grip on the ball. However our work rate was exceptionally good in the first half with all our scores coming from Paudie Cahill and at the interval we were two points down 0-3 to 0-5. Glenville

purple patch continued into the second half and a fisted Goal from Denis Hegarty had us up by a point but a String of unanswered points from Kinsale had them up by three. Two Paudie Cahill points had the gap down to one as injury time approached and in the last minute we won a free to which Josh Cooke took for Aaron Ricken to fist the ball past the Kinsale keeper to put us up by 2-5 to 0-9. We finished strong with a Josh Cooke point to insure that it would be Glenville that would take the league points on this occasion.
