St Colman’s

The St Colman’s minor hurlers progressed to the quarter final of the Premier 2 hurling championship with an emphatic 14 point win over a fancied Blarney outfit.

St Colman’s got off to a blistering start goaling twice within the first 10 minutes with Josh Beausang and Ian Cahill in particular causing the Blarney defense all sorts of problems. Leading by 13 points at half time the game was sealed within 5 minutes of the restart when Ian Cahill unselfishly set up Josh for another goal.

Brian Walsh and Ian himself were the other goal scorers.

The remainder of the game was damage limitation for Blarney and an illustration of how well on top St Colman’s were is that Blarney’s only 2 points from play both came in the final 2 minutes.

St Colman’s now play Cloughduv on Wednesday next and judging by Friday night’s display it will take a very good team to beat them.

Junior B Hurling;

The Junior B hurlers continued their championship preparations with a very worthwhile practice game on Thursday night last against Midleton in Cloyne. Our thanks to Midleton for travelling for the game. The next round v Ballinacurra hasn’t been fixed as yet.

Golf Classic;

We were blessed with a good day for our 2015 Golf Classic that took place in East Cork on Thursday last. Our thanks to everyone that took part, to our organizing committee and to Maurice Moloney and his staff for making the event as successful as it was.
