U21 Championship Win.

U21 Hurling Castlelyons  2-18   Carrig na bhFear   2-0
We travelled to Rathcormac to play Carrig na bhFear in the first round of the East Cork U21 B Championship on Monday night last. This was the game of 2 halfs with a very strong wind blowing directly up the pitch and the team that made the best use of the wind were always going to be in control. We won the toss and elected to play with the wind in the 1st half and we took the game to Carrig na bhFear from the off with early scores from T Carroll, R Bransfield and A Spillane. R Bransfield got in for a well worked goal to extend our lead and with further points from A Fenton, R O Regan , J O Leary and B O Donovan we were well in control. A Fenton got in for a well taken goal and with a point from R O Regan we led at half time by 2-11 to 0-04.Second half was tough against the wind but we had some good performances by our backs with N O Leary , S Fenton, D Varner, J O Leary and T Carroll defending very well. We created some good goal chances in this half which were well saved by the Carrig na bhFear goalkeeper but with points from A Fenton, A Spillane and B O Donovan we maintained our lead. We conceded 2 goals to  Carrig na bhFear which kept them in the game but we finished strongly with points from R Bransfield, A Spillane and B O Donovan to win on a score of 2-18 to 2-08. A good performance in tough conditions and plenty to work on before we play Carrigtwohill in the next round.
