Junior B Hurling League;

We entertained Erin’s Own in Division 3 of the junior hurling league on Wednesday night last 6th May. We played against the strong wind in the first half and were first on the scoreboard with a Brian O’Shea free, Erins Own scored a goal with their first attack after some confusion in our back line. We responded well to this setback with points from B O’Shea (2 frees),Chris Smith, Brian Walsh, Peter Casey and Conor O’Lomasney.Erins Own kept in touch with 5 points from frees and play to leave them 2 points to the good after 20 minutes.

The change of David Jermyn to the full forward line had an instant effect when he scored 3 goals in the 10 minutes before half time. A Peter Casey goal in the middle of this scoring burst saw us comfortably ahead at half time 4.07 to 1.06.

The intensity in the second half dropped off somewhat but we did enough to stay comfortably ahead adding 1.07 to our half time tally. The goal a good effort from half time substitute Ciaran Mullins.Erins Own kept plugging away and added 5 further points to their tally to leave the full time score 5.14 to 1.11 in our favour.

Best wishes to Eoin Davis who suffered a dislocated shoulder in the course of the second half.

Hurling Challenge;

The Intermediate hurlers continued their build up to the upcoming championship when they took on Na Piarsaigh in Cloyne on Friday night last.

It was a very entertaining and worthwhile game that eventually ended with honours even Cloyne 2.12 Na Piarsaigh 18 pts.Colm O’Sullivan scored our 2 goals either side of half time and but for some excellent goalkeeping by the young Na Piarsaigh keeper we might have added to our goals tally.

Best Wishes to Dillon Cahill who sustained a serious shoulder injury during the game.
