U12 Hurling Display: Saturday 25th

From the 20th-26th of April a group of 60 visitors, which included 18 children travelled from Pechabou in France to visit their twinning village in Whitegate, and stayed in Trabolgan Holiday Centre. As part of their itinerary, a visit to Rostellan GAA Grounds was arranged for our visitors to experience the great National Gaelic Game of Hurling. Our U12 team hurlers played Cobh in a very exciting game with Cobh edging a point win as the final whistle blew. Thanks to Finbar, Alun and Lar. (Team Mentors). Our Visitors then took the opportunity to view the Wall of Fame with all our Victorious Football, Hurling, Ladies Football, and Camogie teams displayed in Club House. Thanks to Emer, Mary and Finoula for providing light refreshments for our Guests.

Treasure Hunt:

Aghada Juvenile GAA Committee Members were delighted to receive such support in our annual treasure hunt in Rostelllan on Sunday Morning. With glorious sunshine and idyllic surrounds, the boys/girls queued up to get their questions and set out on their trail and venture through the pathways to follow the clues!! This event was a little different from their usual Sunday morning coaching sessions, but it was truly a great way for the children in our community to inter-act and raise much needed funds for sports equipment and first aid supply for the 2015 season.

A very big thank you to all parents/guardians, children, local National Schools, and everyone that helped in any way to make this event such a success.

Thanks to Micheal O’ Brien (Juvenile Chairman) and all committee members for organising this special fun event and providing light refreshments for all involved.
