Monday 13 April in Rostellan, Aghada 5-5 Ballinhassig 3-6 The under 13 Footballers got off to a winning start against Ballinhassig on a calm evening Rostellan. Captianed by Dan Leahy Aghada took the game to Ballinhassig and got some good scores early on. The visitors had their dominant patch midway through the first half but the Aghada defence marshalled by Lachlan Greig at no. 6 kept the tide at bay and Aghada were behind by a couple of points at the short whistle thanks to surging runs by Neil Cunningham at midfield, and support from Aidan Slye and Conall Rooney- our u12 newcomer who continues develop with his new teammates. The goals continued to flow for both teams in the 2nd half, and the pace quickened rather than letting up- Aghada goals over the hour were scored by Scott Whyte 3, Fintan Cody and Kalem Keane. This was a step up for some of the u12s but Scott Whyte and Michael Stafford used their size and strength to supplement their array of skills. Sean O' Keeffe emptied the bench and the fresh legs kept Aghada attacking right to the full time whistle with Thomas Land,Fintan Cody , Luke O' Driscoll and Kalem Keane playing a passing game to keep the visitors on the back foot. Next up is Kinsale on Monday 20 April in sunny Rostellan. Team Starting : John Manning, Sean O' Callaghan, Dan Leahy (C), Jack Colbert Sean og O' Keeffe, Aidan Slye, Conall Rooney Neil Cunningham, Michael Stafford Barra White, Seamus Maloney, Eoin Motherway Ben Walsh, Scott Whyte, Rory Lang.
