U21 B Football East Cork Final

Castlegoold 1-07 Castlelyons 2-11

On Friday night we travelled to Killeagh to take on Castlelyons in the East Cork final. In the end we came up short to a strong Castlelyons team who pulled away from us in the second half. The first half was competitive with Castlegoold trailing my 3 points at the break.

Straight after half time Castlegoold struck for a goal and this put them firmly in the driving seat until the end. Castlegoold missed a glorious goal opportunity mid way through the half to bring them back into the game and following this Castlelyons hit the net for a second time to end the game as a contest. Castlegoold were rewarded for their hard work with a consolidation goal at the end but congratulations to Castlelyons who fully deserved their victory on the night.

From a Castlemartyr perspective Conor White had a fine game in goals, pulling off a number of fine saves.

Best wishes to Declan Kelly who picked up an injury on the night. Hopefully he will be back on the field soon enough.
