Intermediate Hurling Challenge

We welcomed Ballindereen of Galway to Cloyne on Saturday last for a hurling challenge game. The first half was a competitive encounter and we held a 1.12 to 8 point lead at half time the goal coming from the stick of Ashley Walsh.

The intensity levels petered out a small bit in the second half with both sides still registering some fine scores.A Diarmuid O’Sullivan goal saw us win out 2,23 to 20 pts.

Overall it was a worthwhile exercise with some fine performances from the young squad most notably Ciaran Mullins in his new midfield role,Eoin Motherway at corner back and Stevie Beausang in his unfamiliar role at full back.

Our thanks to referee Pa Beausang of Midleton who refereed the game very well.
