Celebrating County Final Victory.
2014 was a memeroable year for Castlelyons GAA Club in that it brought our first football county final win since 1989. The year started back in May when we defeated Kilmeen on a score of 2-06 to 0-06 points. This was followed up by victories over  Doneraile ,Rathpeacon, and Grange before qualifying for a County Final where out opponents were again Kilmeen. After a tense struggle we came from behind with a last minute goal from Alan Fenton securing our first Football County title in 25 years. The club would like to mark and celebrate this victory and to this end a function is being organized in Vienna Woods Hotel Glanmire on Feb 21th. The county winning squad will be in attendance and will receive their medals and also medals will be presented to the 2013 hurling squad following there appearance in the PI hurling county final. Also a presentation will be made on the night to the team that won our first  football county final in 1989, when we defeated Whitechurch in Watergrasshill, to mark 25 years since that historic victory. This promises to be a great night and the function is open to everyone members ,supporters, friends and family. Please keep Feb 21th  free and tickets will be available from any committee member of Castlelyons GAA Club.

Scór Sinsir – Imokilly 2015.

Scor for adults takes places this year in Lisgoold on Feb 22nd.There are 8 events/disciplines in Scór for 2014/15 and as a Club Castlelyons can take part in any one or all of these.  These disciplines cover all aspects of Irish culture, Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Recitation/Storytelling, Instrumental Music, Léiriú, Ballad Group, Set Dancing and Table Quiz. No doubt there are many talented people available in our club that would be more than anxious to take part and would be a help to the club. Table Quiz an exciting competition, started in 2014, as it was changed to facilitate the wishes of so many clubs rather than the individual one.  This year for the Imokilly Division number of questions have been reduced to just 50.    Entry forms ,which must be returned by Feb 13th ,are available from any officer of the club.

Membership for the 2015 season is now open .Fees of  € 50 for Adults and € 20 for Students and OAP can be paid to  Donal O Leary (treasurer) , Denis Fenton (PRO) or any club officer. We would encourage people to pay their membership on or before 31th March as this is the cut off date for the issuing of membership cards from GAA head office in Croke Park.

Knockanard Point to Points.

Knockanard Point to Points are taking place this year on Feb 15th with Castlelyons GAA again hosting the tea tent. Any help in the preparation of food, or on the day in the tent, would be much appreciated.
