JB Football Munster Championship.

Castlelyons 1-10 Kildimo 2-13

Castlelyons played the quarter final of the Munster JB Football championship last weekend when we played Kildimo in Knockaderry. Played on a dry ,bright day this was a fine game of football with Kildimo being that bit stronger than us in the last 15 mins. Scores were even in the first quarter with Castlelyons having points from A Spillane and R Bransfield to leave sides level at 4 points each after 15 mins. Kildimo scored 1-02 in the next 5 mins to establish a strong lead but a goal from T McCarthy and points from A Spillane and B Fitzgerald left the sides level at half time 1-06 each.

Kildimo started the second half strongly and scored the first 3 points to establish a lead that we struggled to pull back. R Bransfield and A Spillane scored 2 frees to reduce the deficit but Kildimo were dominating and even though we had chances we could not get the goal we required to level the match and when Kildimo scored a second goal with 5 mins left the match was gone from us. J Barry and A Spillane scored our last 2 points to leave the final score Castlelyons 1-10 Kildimo 2-13. This was a fine match with great effort and commitment shown by all involved. As this was the last match of the season management and players are thanked for their efforts throughout the year and hope we can do it all again in 2015.
