AGM of Scór Uí Mac Coille on Thursday 25th September, 8pm,
Aras Erins Own, Caherlag.
Promotion of Scór in Uí Mac Coille
  Ciarán Mac Cana, Runaí, Coiste Scór, Uí Mac Coille.

We would appreciate a strong attendance from Clubs at the AGM of Scór Uí Mac Coille on Thursday 25th September at 8pm in Aras Erins Own.  It would be appreciated if all clubs sent two representative one from their Adult and one from their Juvenile Clubs.  We also invite representatives from Camogie and Ladies Football Clubs.  Indeed, we trust in your support and efforts for the coming year.

Scór is the flagship of the cultural drive within Cumann Luath-Chleas Gael, providing endless hours of involvement and excitement for patrons for more than 40 years.  The promotion of Scór at adult and juvenile levels has helped to play an important role on the revival of our culture and heritage.  It gives juveniles and adults a real opportunity to interact with the best of Irish culture and through the years East Cork clubs have been outstanding in their contributions.

However, in recent years and, especially, during the age of the “Tiger” the interest in Scór waned a little, especially in Scór no nÓg and Scór Sinsir.  Accordingly, we would ask that all Clubs continue to promote Scór as it really adds to the overall value of the Club unit and can bring people to your Club that while not necessarily interested in the sporting side they can make a quality contribution and assist in promoting a strong community interest for Cumann Luth-Chleas Gael.

Scór exists for all with competitions in music, song, dance recitation and quiz;
 Scór na bPaistí exists for the children attending National Schools.
 Scór na nÓg competition up to 17 years.
 Scór Sinsir for those over 17 years and adults.

The volunteer effort involved on the organisation side has been inspirational, and a real tribute to the ethos of our clubs and members in Imokilly.   We really appreciate all those who took part and assisted in promotion, taking part in and running of the competitions in any way.  We wish to thank especially our teachers in the various schools s who contribute so much to Scór na bPaistí.  We would appreciate even a great interest and improvement from Clubs for the coming year and, no doubt, trust in your support and efforts.

Hereunder is the outgoing Executive and Committee and we always like to get new members.
