Cloyne GAA Notes;

Lotto;
We had no winner of last week’s lotto draw for a €8,000 jackpot or no winner of the €1000 prize for matching 3 numbers plus the bonus.
The winning numbers drawn were 1,2,25,27 bonus 12.
Congratulations to Jerry O’Dwyer the only person to match 3 numbers and he receives €150.
Next week’s draw for a €8,200 jackpot will be held in Harty’s bar and Restaurant with tickets available from all local outlets.

Intermediate Championship;
Following the death of Ballinhassig GAA stalwart Donie Coleman our quarterfinal game was postponed as a mark of respect. The game has been refixed for next Saturday 13th Sept at 3.30 in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
To keep things ticking over we played St Catherines in a practice game on Saturday evening at home. The game ended in a 3-point victory 2.15 to 18 pts in what was an entertaining game that was of great benefit as we were able to give the full panel some game time.
Our thanks to St Catherine’s for the game and the best of luck to them as they try to preserve their Intermediate status in a relegation final against Dripsey.
Our thanks also to Ger Scully of Killeagh who referee’d the game.

All-Ireland Final;
The game of hurling never ceases to amaze us, after the drama of last years final between Cork and Clare we were served up another classic with Tipperary and Kilkenny finishing level after a high quality shootout.
The scoreline was one you would expect to see from an U12 game with 64 scores over the 70 minutes which was almost a score a minute.
If the replay is half as good it will be some game to look forward to, the replay is fixed for Saturday 27th Sept with a 5 pm throw in.

Fixtures;
Intermediate Hurling championship v Ballinhassig at 3.30 Pairc Ui Chaoimh Saturday 13th Sept.
Prov fixture; Cloyne v Glanworth Intermediate football relegation final Oct 5th in Rathcormac at 5pm.
