Our under 10 squad with the help of some under 9s travelled to clonmel on Sat. for the annual St Marys Club tournament. They had a wonderful day out and played 4 games v Toomevarra ,St Marys ,Cloneea and Ballyboden St Endas.Because of holidays some under 9s were drafted into the squad for the event and all 16 players who travelled shared equal time on the playing pitch which of coarse was the most important thing. The lads really enjoyed the hurling and each received a medal to mark their participation.Equally important was the food stop on the return journey where the children parents and mentors were able to have some refreshments and a well earned rest.Well done to all and in particular Emmett Guest for his organisation of the day.

Erin`s Own Vs Castlemarytr East Cork Semi-final. Ladies Under 14

It was an exciting evening on the grounds at home, when our girls arrived for their warm up at 6pm. Everyone was buzzing with the semi - final match ahead. We worked hard to get here.
Throw in by referee Dominic Rooney was at 7pm. We won the toss so played with the setting sun to our backs. Castlemarytr got the first goal in the 8th minute. This was our wake up call. We then claimed back 4 points from frees. The play was 50/50 all through the 1st half, even with us putting 6 wide`s, due to a cross wind on the pitch .We went into half time with a draw.
We started the second half well by getting a goal in the 2nd minute, which lifted the girl`s spirits. Castlemarytr then took charge by getting 4 points from frees. From their next free they put the ball in the top corner of the net.
The setting sun was still in the sky and the conditions were hard on the girl`s eyes. We gave it our best effort, but when the final whistle was blown, it was not enough to win. Well done to Castlemarytr for a great clean game.
Final score Castlemarytr 2-6 to Erin`s Own 1-5.
