Fixtures:
Killeagh v Glen Rovers in Midleton on Thursday June 19th at 7.30pm:
Killeagh served up a great game of hurling last Thursday for a huge crowd in Midleton against Glen Rovers but despite a valiant effort failed by the narrowest of margins. Prior to the rescheduled game taking place we were forced into changes due to injuries to key players and this did not help our cause. After the first quarter we were dealt another serious blow when Brian Collins had to depart due to injuries received on the field. The team fought on against these setbacks and gave their all right up to the final whistle and despite the heartbreak were applauded off the field by the large number of supporters who travelled to the game. Final score on the night was Killeagh 1-15 Glen Rovers 1-16. Killeagh now play Midleton  in a Round 2 (Losers) game with the date, time and venue yet to be arranged.
Killeagh GAA Club would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the following people who asissted Brian Collins on Thursday evening. The paramedics and Midleton GAA club officials who were on duty for the game, and also to the officials and medical staff from both Glen Rovers GAA club and Killeagh GAA club. We are glad to say that Brian is making a great recovery from his injuries and will be okay.
Good Luck:
Killeagh GAA Club would like to wish Padraig McCarthy all the best on his travels as he departs the green playing fields of Killeagh to pastures new. He has been a great servant to Killeagh GAA Club through playing football and hurling at all age levels up to and including senior level, he also gave his time to training various teams at under-age in both codes and was also a great fund-raiser for the club. We wish him the very best with his new adventures in Canada and no doubt he will continue to follow the fortunes of his beloved Killeagh.

Captains Prize Outing:
Killeagh GAA Golf Society held their latest outing on Saturday last, June 21st in West Waterford Golf Club, Dungarvan. It was Captain Sean Treacy’s day and the huge attendance provided proof, if it were needed, of how highly regarded this year’s captain is held within not only the golf society but also in Killeagh GAA Club. Juvenile News:
Fixtures/Results:
Under 14 Football Championship Aghada 5-10 Killeagh-Ita’s 2-6
The score-line at the finish doesn’t do justice to a brave performance from our Under 14 boys who were defeated by a slick Aghada side in Aghavine on Friday last. Matters were very even in the first quarter, after which Aghada led by 0-4 to 0-1, a lead due in part to our poor shooting in front of goal, both from play and from frees. Danny Cunningham scored our point. We continued to gain good possession but the Aghada boys were more accurate in their shooting, and a goal after 26 minutes gave them a 1-7 to 0-2 half-time lead, Liam McCarthy scoring our second point. Our boys had a great third quarter and a goal from Jack Wyse, followed by points from Richie Long and a Robert Sinclair free, reduced the deficit to 4 points, 1-8 to 1-4 by the three-quarter hour mark. However, a second Aghada goal knocked the stuffing out of our boys and despite points from Barry Motherway and Adrian Galvin and a late goal from Robert Sinclair, Aghada pushed on with three more goals (two in injury time) to win by 5-10 to 2-6 on Jim Daly’s final whistle.
Team: Adrian Galvin (0-1), Cathal Fitzgibbon, Daniel Lucey, Darragh Geary, Kieran Daly, Dylan Hogan, George Sinclair, Padraig Leahy, Barry Motherway (0-1), Olin Hennessy, Liam McCarthy (0-1), Richie Long (0-1), Danny Cunningham (0-1), Jack Wyse (1-0), Darragh O’Connor. Subs used: Robert Sinclair (1-1), Ryan McCarthy, David Kelly, Paul Delaney, Oisin McCarthy.
