Junior A hurling championship first round

Castlemartyr open their defence of their East Cork Oil Junior A hurling title against the team they beat in last year's final, Sarsfields next Sat evening in Lisgoold at 5pm. After a mixed league to date this year Castlemartyr will have to be at their best to beat what will be a very strong Sars team who don't play senior championship until next Monday.

Div 3 Hurling league Castlemartyr 1-20 Killeagh 2-08

Castlemartyr recorded their first win in this league with a comfortable in over Killeagh last Wed night. Best for Castlemartyr on the night were Damien McAulliffe, Eoin Ronayne, Jamie Stack and Mike O'Neill. Congratulations to a number of players who have represented Cork in recent intercounty matches. Brian Lawton has featured for the Cork seniors in their run to the Munster final while Barry Lawton and Barra O'Tuama have both played for the Cork intermediates as they also reached the Munster final. 

Congratulations also to Nicola Moran who won a gold and a silver medal at the Special Olympics Ireland Games in Limerick recently. Well done Nicola.
