Juvenile News:
Fixtures/Results:
U13 Hurling League Kiltha Óg 3-10, Killeagh-Ita’s 6-10
Killeagh-Ita’s Under 13 boys produced a good performance on Monday night last in Castlemartyr to edge out Kiltha Óg in a high-scoring game, with great scores from both sides. Our boys had the better start and had 1-2 on the board after 10 minutes, courtesy of a goal from Ben O’Connor and points from Ryan McCarthy and Darragh O’Connor. However, Kiltha then took over, scoring six points without reply in the next 12 minutes. Our forwards were going for goals when points were on, and missed a few point opportunities as well. A second goal from Ben restored our lead but Kiltha got a goal and a point of their own before half-time to lead by 1-7 to 2-2 at the break. The second half saw our team convert much more of their chances, with goals from Ryan McCarthy, Olan Broderick, Ciaran Leahy and Olan Broderick again, and points from Ben, Ciaran, Olan and Dara Motherway. Olan Coleman worked hard at corner-forward while Owen Cosgrove also hurled well on the wing. In defence, Robert Sinclair and Daniel Lucey played very well in the second half, and Richie Landers hurled an amount of ball (and distributed well) from left-half back. Courcey Rovers are next up in July. Well done to the boys and to bainisteoir Richie who continues to get the best out of his team.
Team: Robbie Treacy, George Sinclair, Cian McDonald, Daniel Lucey, Robert Sinclair, Ryan McCarthy (1-1), Richie Landers, Cathal Fitzgibbon, Dara Motherway (0-2), Owen Cosgrove, Ben O’Connor (2-3), Olan Broderick (2-2), David Kelly, Darragh O’Connor (0-1), Aaron O’Connell. Subs: Olan Coleman, Ciaran Leahy (1-1), Tommy Noonan.

U14 Football League Aghada 2-9, Killeagh-Ita’s 2-6
Killeagh-Ita’s Under 14 footballers played their final league game and their final game before championship (also against Aghada) in Rostellan on Thursday June 5th, with John Kirby well in control as referee from start to finish. This was an exciting game of football with Aghada the better team, but our boys worked hard from start to finish. We trailed by 1-6 to 1-1 at half time but scored some nice points after half time and were rewarded with a goal from Dara Motherway. We had some chances to equalise or reduce the gap in the last five minutes but Aghada held firm to claim the points. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to reverse this in championship in Killeagh on Friday next, June 20th, although we’ll have to be at our best to defeat this fine Aghada side.
Team: Cian McDonald, Cathal Fitzgibbon, Daniel Lucey, Darragh Geary, Liam McCarthy, Dylan Hogan, Kieran Daly, Padraig Leahy, Adrian Galvin, Olin Hennessy (0-1), Richie Long (1-3), Robert Sinclair, David Kelly (0-1), James Kent, Danny Cunningham: Subs: Dara Motherway (1-1), Andrew Foley, George Sinclair, Darragh O’Connor, Aaron O’Connell.
