Intermediate Championship.
Last Saturday night saw us host the Intermediate championship game between Aghada and Fr O’Neills at our new complex in River St.The club would like to thank all those that were very complimentary to us in relation to the new building and to thank all club members who helped out on the night and spent a long time getting the place in order.

Premier Intermediate Championship.
For the first time in 7 years we have successfully cleared the first hurdle in championship hurling and what a victory it was.The reward for this victory is our Premier Intermediate status preserved for another year but more importantly the relief of not being in a potential relegation battle.
A back injury ruled out the unfortunate David Jermyn before throw in but his place was ably taken by Ashley Walsh who put in a great shift.
The groundwork for the win was laid in the first half ,points were swapped for the first 15 minutes and then we scored three excellent goals in a ten minute spell coming up to half time. The first of these was a converted Diarmuid O’Sullivan penalty following a foul on himself, the second was a beautiful overhead strike from the evergreen Conor Cusack and the third arrived shortly after from Keith Dennehy who was expertly set up by Paudie O’Sullivan.Management  had made a brave call replacing young full back Ian Cahill  who had picked up early yellow card with his replacement Paul O’Sullivan going on to have a fine game.
Points from play from Keith,Colm and Paudie and with Diarmuid enerring from frees we went in at half time with a healthy 3.07 to 9 point lead.A feature of the first half is that we registered no wide a record certainly for Cloyne id imagine.
Half time subs Dillon Cahill and Jordan Sherlock on for injury victims Brian McCarthy and Stevie Beausang fitted in seamlessly with Dillon scoring an excellent point. The expected fight back from Valley Rovers never really materialized as we were able to answer all of their points with a score of our own.Paudie grew into the game and each of his 3 second half points we better than the last, his third one in particular a great team score worked the whole way up the field through Conor and Diarmuid before being excellently finished by Paudie.
Overall an excellent team performance with the positives of scoring 3.17 a feat not accomplished in a while, the return of Paudie to championship action and the further integration of new hungry young players to the team.
