Fun Walk
We had a fantastic turnout for our Fun Walk in partnership with the Mercy Hospital in support of sick children. It took place on Sunday last, May 11th and we assembled in Pairc Ui Chinneide at 12 noon and walked up to Glenbower Woods and returned to our GAA grounds. Well done to all who took part and got sponsors for themselves, thanks to all the parents who helped on the day and also to the stewards and marshals from our club and everybody who gave their time to this very worthy cause.

Fé 14 Iomáint Killeagh-Ita’s 2-7, Fr. O’Neill’s 2-4
Killeagh-Ita’s U14 hurlers won their third league game at home in this year’s Eastern Rebel Óg league on Tuesday last, beating Fr. O’Neill’s in an entertaining game by 2-7 to 2-4. O’Neill’s had a lot of possession in the first half but shot a few wides and our defence, superbly marshalled by Dylan Hogan and Padraig Leahy, were able to minimise the threat. At the other end Richie Long and Ryan McCarthy hit over some fine points (2 each, one from play and one from a free for each of them) while Richie also goaled in the 15th minute. O’Neill’s got their first point a minute before half time and then Darragh O’Connor made a crucial save to leave the score at 1-4 to 0-1 at the mid way point. O’Neill’s played much better in front of goals in the second half and reduced the lead to 4 points before Olan Broderick goaled to give us another cushion. However we struggled to pull away and despite further points from Richie and Olan O’Neill’s kept working hard and were rewarded with a goal on 55 minutes and another on 58 minutes to leave us sweating. Thankfully Adrian Galvin hit over a valuable point between these goals to leave us three points ahead and when an injury time 20-metre free was saved by Padraig Leahy it was enough to keep us one goal ahead when Jim Daly blew his final whistle. A good win, although the performance was a bit short of what we might have hoped for. Focus switches to football now for a few weeks with championship scheduled for June 20th.

U11 Hurling
Our U11 travelled to Lismore to take part in the Ber Ryan tournament in Lismore. Killeagh-Itas lost to Coshla Gaels from Limerick in their first match but won against Naomh Charthaigh (Lismore) and Brickey Rangers to see them into the runners up final against Youghal.  They won the final on a scoreline of 1-2 to 1-1
