Fundraising Cycle
A number of club members are taking on a gruelling 180KM cycle all in the name of a good cause. On Good Friday, April 19th they will cycle the famous ‘Ring of Kerry’. Funds will be split between Marymount Hospice and Castlemartyr GAA. Anybody interested in sponsoring the cyclists can do so by contacting any committee member or dropping into The Village Greengrocer where they will find a sponsorship card.

Junior A Football Championship
Castlemartyr  take on last years beaten finalists Lisgoold in the first round of this years junior A football championship next sat night 19th in Ballinacurra at 7pm. No doubt this is a tough opening fixture but if we play to our potential we should have every chance of progressing through to round three.
Imokilly/Avondhu JHL Newtownshandrum 1-10 Castlemartyr 1-11

We had our second win in the league on Friday evening when we travelled to Newtownshandrum. The hosts had the advantage of the wind and rain in the first half, both defences were on top in this game. We were behind at half time 1.07 /0.03 scores were hard to get. Colin Bownes got a fine opportunist goal mid way through the second half,  we took the lead with 5mins left , Newtown equalised a minute later and we got the winner on our next attack,  Newtown tried hard for the equaliser but we held on. The lawtons Barry 0.06 and Brian0.04 led the scoring our defence were excellent , with Rob having a great game at full back. One of the highlights of the night were 2 fantastic saves from Eanna.
