Well done to club members Mark Landers (coach) and Eoghan Keniry on a fine win with the Cork minor hurlers this past week in the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship. Juvenile News:
Minor Hurling League: Fr. O’Neills 0-20 Killeagh-Ita’s 2-15 played in Ahavine on Sat April 12th at 3pm
Minor Hurling
Our minor hurlers travelled to Ahavine on Saturday afternoon and took part in a very lively and entertaining hurling game against Fr.O’Neills. It was a lovely afternoon for the game and was helped by the superb condition of the playing surface. Team management were forced into a number of changes due to niggling injuries to key players but the replacements gave a good account of themselves for the duration of the game. The half-time score was Fr.O’Neills 0-10 to Killeagh-Ita’s 1-09, the goal courtesy of Cork minor hurler Eoghan Keniry. The second half very much followed the course of the first half with both teams dominating at different stages. However, it was Killeagh-Ita’s who emerged victorious on a final score of Killeagh-Ita’s 2-15 to Fr. O’Neills 0-20, the second goal coming from Shane Smiddy.
Team: D Cusack, J O’Rourke, B McCarthy, P Delaney, D Cahill, D O’Brien, B Delaney, E Keniry, C Deane, C Cusack, A Leahy, S Smiddy, K Treacy, D Landers, S Desmond.
Subs: E Murphy, K Fennelly, C Coughlan, C Walsh, E Fitzgibbon, P Walsh.

Féile Blitz runs off smoothly in Páirc Uí Chinnéide
On Saturday last Páirc Uí Chinnéide hosted Group 6 of the Féile na nGael Under 14 Hurling Competition. 5 teams participated – Killeagh-Ita’s, Bride Rovers, St. Colman’s, Fr. O’Neill’s and Sarsfields, with a total of 10 games being played. The first 2 games began at 10.45 a.m. and the final 2 games concluded at 2.30 p.m., so it was a long day for all the players and their supporters and mentors. At the end of the Blitz, Sarsfields emerged victorious by virtue of having conceded less than Bride Rovers, who had drawn with Sars in their first game and remained undefeated through the rest of the day. The weather was nice, apart from the final 10 minutes of the last games, the pitches were in great condition, and the 4 referees had a relatively easy day with good co-operation from all teams and mentors. Many thanks to the co-ordinators for the day – Ursula and Tommy – and to the ground staff, spearheaded by Sean Treacy, for ensuring that everything was in perfect order on the day. A particular thank you to the parents of all the U14 Killeagh-Ita’s panel who provided mountains of food to feed supporters and players throughout the day, and managed the catering and cleaning with a smile!

Our U12’s are preparing for their 2nd football league games against St Colmans next Sat 19th at 12 noon in St Colmans.  There is no training this week due to the Easter camp
U7 & U8Killeagh under 7 and 8 boys took part in their first monster hurling blitz of the year in Ballynoe (St. Catherine's) on Saturday 12th April.  We had a lovely fine sunny day for the boys to exhibit their skills.
The boys competed really well in their games showing great enthusiasm and energy, particularly in the first games.
They have been working hard in training, with the hard work paying off today. We will however, be working a little bit more on their concentration in the coming weeks.
An Easter training camp will be run on Monday 14th Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th from 10.00 to 12.00 in Killeagh GAA Club grounds. We hope that all the boys will take advantage of the great training sessions in store.
Thank you to all who helped out today and thanks to all the parents who travelled to the venue.
Training for our under 7 and 8 groups will not be on next Saturday due to the up-coming Easter Camp.
