Club Jerseys

Our club received yet again another generous sponsorship for our main Sponsor Woods Quik Pick with a new set of Jerseys. Head of the company, Donal Woods has been a great sponsor and supporter of this club throughout the years and we can’t thank Donal enough for this latest gesture. Presented last Friday, to our club chairman Eoin O’Riordan, who had this to say “On behalf of the club I would like to thank Woods Quik Pick for the wonderful generosity in the sponsorship of these new jerseys. They will be worn with pride and honour and this will provide the junior squad with a major boost for the coming season”. Donal in response, provided a kind word and offered great encouragement and urged our squad to believe to achieve and with the help of these new jerseys, the coming season is becoming an exciting one. Thanks again Donal and Woods Quik Pick.

As the score line suggests a very one-sided encounter was experienced last Sunday afternoon as we came away with the two points on offer. Lisgoold made a few changes from the previous day and apart from the first twelve minutes of the match never really looked in trouble. Andrew, Peter and Conor were solid gain in the backs whilst Moss, Alan Charles and Jamie performed well in the forwards. The first was registered in 22nd minute a wonderful team move with John Cashman, Killian and Jamie working together to set-up Alan Conroy who hit a great goal. Some splendid points from Charles, Bryan Sullivan and John Cashman ensured a 1-9 to 0-4 lead at the short whistle. Our strength in depth showed in the second half as the management rang in the changes. With a stiff breeze behind our backs there was only going to be one winner, our supporters would be delighted with the fact that subs Noel Connery (Point) and Denis O’Brien (Goal) got on the score sheet. This shows the competition and hunger that has been installed in the panel. Some wonderful points were taken especially Bryan Sull, Jamie Woods and John Cashman. We held our lead to the finish and the final gloss was when Jamie Woods got our third green flag. Our feet are firmly planted on the ground but it was great to tack on another two points on the league table. We have now football championship coming up so it’s the big ball for the next few weeks.
