Div 2 Football League Castlemartyr 2-09 Glanmire 1-13

An understrength Castlemartyr side short of a number of first team players made the trip to Glanmire to face the home team under lights on last Friday night. We put in a very good performance and were unlucky not to get something from the game. We led by three points at half time on a score of 1-06 to 0-06. Our goal came from a superb solo effort by Colm Beausang. Glanmire came back strongly in the second half and opened up a 4 point lead with time running out. We managed to draw level after Colm Beausang again found the net and another Castlemartyr point levelled the score. However Glanmire had the last say with a point to take the spoils.

Fundraising Cycle
A number of club members are taking on a gruelling 180KM cycle all in the name of a good cause. On Good Friday, April 19th they will cycle the famous ‘Ring of Kerry’. Funds will be split between Marymount Hospice and Castlemartyr GAA. Anybody interested in sponsoring the cyclists can do so by contacting any committee member or dropping into The Village Greengrocer where they will find a sponsorship card.
