Glanmire 1-13 Castlemartyr 2-09
The Glanmire Junior Footballers followed up on their victory over Russell Rovers midweek with a win against Castlemartyr tonight in the Junior football league at the Pike Field .
The game ebbed and flowed throughout, with Brian Kelleher impressing in the half forward position for Glanmire and James Burkley once again having an excellent game in the middle. Glanmire started brightly with good points from Kelleher and Chris Cummins. However, the Castlemartyr number 14 scored a goal midway through the first half following  an excellent run. They then tagged on a number of points and the half time score read Glanmire 0-06 Castlemartyr 1-06.
The second half saw a hungrier Glanmire side come flying out of the blocks. Kevin O’Rourke was once again dependable in goal with corner back Kevin Allen also impressing, making a number of interceptions. The turning point in the game was when Duncan Tsu took off on one of his trademark runs with 12 minutes remaining and scored a fantastic goal.
Castlemartyr came down the pitch and scored a fine point. Both teams traded points over thenext  10 minutes. Castlemartyr then scored an equalising goal with 2 minutes left following a long delivery. However, Glanmire’s tenacious play resulted in the fleet footed Darragh O’Rourke scoring the winning point, with Chris Cummins and Brian Kelleher playing a prominent role in creating it.
