Intermediate Hurling;
We had a busy weekend’s action with games on Friday night and Sunday morning. Friday night’s game was away to Bandon in the semi-final of the Liam Breathneach Cup. Fielding a very understrength team on a difficult pitch for hurling and with a referee who refused to penalise players for lying on the ball this all added up to a disappointing contest to say the least. At half time we were 8 points behind 9 points to 1, the feature of the half was some excellent point scoring from both frees and plays from the Bandon corner forward.
The second half saw us come into the game a lot more and we succeeded in bringing the margin down to 4 points but Bandon finished out the game with 4 unanswered points to deservedly win out by 14pts to 1.04.

On Sunday morning we travelled to one of the highest villages in Ireland to take on the local Meelin in a Division 1 hurling league game.
Again a very understrength team took to the field and but for some missed chances most noticeably from frees we could have taken something from the game. The final score was Meelin 1.10 Cloyne 1.07.
