Premier Intermediate Football.

Glenville Premier Intermediate Footballers played Na Piarsaigh in round 2 of the County League last Sunday in windswept Glenville. Glenville were always in control of this game and in truth wind assisted should have been much further than 0-7 to 0-2 at half time. The second half was again domi nated by Glenville and we controlled the game and won out 0-9 to 0-4 in the end . Well done lads. Our previous game was against Fermoy and we lost out by a point in a game we should have closed out but took the foot off the gas in the end letting Fermoy in for four late points in a dissapointing result. Final Score Glenville 0-10 Fermoy 0-11.

Junior A Football

We began the year with an away game to Youghal and after a good game lost out by a two point margin 2-8 to 2-6. We then travelled to Carrigtwohill and lost out 2-6 to 2-4 in another close game. Last Sunday we entertained Russell Rovers. We were seriously depleted for this game as we played it after the Intermediate league game but the lads did well all through keeping tabs up until the end where we conceeded a late goal to finish up 2-7 to 0-8 adrift. Our next game is this Saturday against Ballinacurra in Glenville at 5pm

Junior B Football

After winning out the Junior C last year we move up to Junior B level this year and on Friday night last we had a great start to the year with a good win over a tough Cloyne side. Glenville were well in control early on and built up a 2-6 to 1-2 interval lead. Cloyne were a lot more competitive in the change over and were unlucky to have a few great chances go astray. Glenville held firm and won out 3-11 to 2-7 in the end.

U21 Championship

We play Cobh on weekend of March 15th in this first round clash ,a repeat of 2011 Minor A final in which we lost out to Cobh.
