NEWSLETTER FOR W/C January 20th 2014 .
Membership day will be on Sunday 9th February from 2.30pm. Old and new members are welcome to attend on this day so please come down to the clubhouse for a chat and cup of tea and experience our fantastic facilities and meet new friends.
Club Lotto Results;
Details for our latest Lotto draw are as follows:
Numbers drawn on Tuesday Jan 14th were 6, 15, 19 and 24.
There was no winner of this week's jackpot and the jackpot for our next draw will be €5200
€30 lucky dip winners were Leanne Riordan, Tomas and Michelle Treacy, Matt Fitzgerald and Kevin O’Driscoll.
The Club Lotto Draw takes place each Tuesday night and many thanks to all for supporting our club lotto.
Club Shop;
The Club shop is open on most Saturday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am. Plan a visit to your club shop where you can choose from a wide selection of sports accessories in your club colours. Replica jerseys (all sizes), shorts, training clothing, etc. are available for all ages Please support your club by purchasing from the club shop.
Scrap Saturday:
Killeagh GAA Club are holding a scrap metal collection on Saturday March 1st at the clubhouse from 10.00am until 4.30pm. Please set the day aside to gather up any waste/scrap metal and the like and take it down to the clubhouse. You can deposit all forms of metal as well as any unwanted farm machinery, batteries, electrical goods etc. Collections from any address can also be accommodated by contacting Kieran Scully 085 8037343 and Adrain Budds on 087 9872388.
Glenbower Rovers U21 team made a winning start to the year. They played near neighbours Clashmore in an early season challenge match. The game was played in a dry but cold Clashmore on Saturday night last. It proved to be a very good work out for both teams and the game was evenly matched until late in the 2nd half. Training for the U21 squad continues this week with a session on Friday 24th next at 7pm.
Martin Fogarty Coaching Workshop next Saturday in Killeagh
Brian Cody’s phenomenal achievements with Kilkenny over the past 15 years are well documented, but real hurling fans know that the brains behind Cody’s operation for much of that time has been Martin Fogarty, surely one of the most exceptional hurling coaches of all time. Martin will visit Killeagh GAA Club on Saturday next, January 25th from 11.00 to 1.00 for a Hurling Workshop. Places are limited for this workshop which promises to be very inspiring. To book your place for this workshop contact Sean Crowley, Cork Games Development Administrator @ This workshop also forms part of an Award 1 Coaching Course which Sean is running in Killeagh over the next 2 weekends, starting on Friday evening @ 7.00 p.m. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so don’t be disappointed, book your place now.

Golf Society:
Annual Margaret Rochford and Tom Fitzgibbon Memorial Trophies:
The Society’s annual Margaret Rochford and Tom Fitzgibbon Memorial Trophies will take place on Tuesday February 25th at West Waterford Golf Club in Dungarvan. All patrons are invited to meet for refreshments in clubhouse at 1.15pm to prepare for a shotgun start at 1.45pm. Dinner for the outing will be at 6.15pm, also in clubhouse. This outing is a fundraiser for the charity Aid Cancer Treatment (ACT) and your support would be greatly appreciated. Away-Weekend of Golf
Killeagh GAA Golf Society are delighted to announce details of their annual away weekend of golf for 2014. It will take place on the weekend of March 7th and 8th. A great value weekend deal has been secured at the Randelscourt Hotel in Killarney where the cost per person sharing for 2 nights B and B and 1 dinner is €129. Both courses offer fine course and clubhouse facilities and lend themselves to enjoyable golf breaks.

Green Team:  Darragh Coleman, Ciaran Leahy, Tony Mc Carthy, Eoin Brenner, Dale Mc Mahon, Colm Leahy, Ben Fogarty, Jack O’Connor & Eoin Kelly.
Orange Team:  Ryan Farquhar, Ciaran O’Rourke, Ben Jennings, Evan Lane, George Walshe, Callum Martin-White, Daniel Walsh & Sean O’Riordan.
White Team:  David Collins, Ben O’Connor, Remy Bernard, Jamie Fogarty, Jack Flanagan, Conor Meade, Danny Fitzgerald & Darragh O’Brien.
Blue Team:  Paul Kent, Christian Coughlan, Darragh Buckley, Aaron Fitzgibbon, Colm Landers, Ciaran Brennan, Rory Motherway & Diarmuid Buckley.
Yellow Team:  Padraig Landers, Brian Murphy, David Scully, Padraig Mackey, David Buttimer, Ian Landers, Ben Budds, Tommy Morrison & Ruarai Mackey.
Killeagh-Itas U9, U10, U11 & U12 had their first night of hurling leagues in Killeagh/Inch All Weather Pitch under floodlights.  The leagues are being run over 6 weeks.  All matches were competitive with a very high standard of hurling.  Killeagh/Inch All Weather Pitch is a superb sporting venue and a great asset to the community.
The Green team captained by Darragh Coleman beat Daniel Doherty’s red team narrowly 10 goals and 1 point to 10 goals.
Ryan Farquhar’s orange team beat Padraig Landers yellows team by 9 goals and 1 point to 7 goals
David Collins white team beat Paul Kent’s blues team 20 goals and 2 points to 12 goals and 1 point
