JUVENILE NEWS
U12 FOOTBALL PARISH LEAGUES GET GOING
Rounds 2 and 3 of our Under 12 Parish Leagues started in fine weather last Sunday morning but finished in very wet and mucky conditions, ensuring all the parents were busy with the washing machines and showers for the afternoon! After three rounds, the Red team had a 100% record, having beaten the understrength Yellows by 5-8 to 1-0 and the Blues by 2-3 to 1-1. This second game was a great battle, with the Blues trying from start to finish to get their first points. Earlier, they had been well beaten by the Green Team, who were strong in every part of the field, and for whom Under 10s Evan Lane and Paudie Mackey caught the eye with some lovely skill. The second game for the Greens was another real battle, this time with the Yellows. It was 2-3 each at half time and finished level at 3-7 to 4-4 when reiteoir Mikey blew the final whistle. Well done again to everyone for great commitment on a drab day when the Playstation or XBox might have been more enticing than the slipping and sliding on a mucky pitch! Semi-finals and finals next weekend, watch for the report next week. In the semi-finals, Reds play Blues and Yellows play Greens.
Teams:
Blues: Daniel Lucey, Olan Coleman, Dara Motherway, Tommy Noonan, Oisin McCarthy, Brian Murphy, Darragh Coleman, David Collins, Rory Lynch.
Yellows: Owen Cosgrove, Karl O’Toole, Ryan McCarthy, Jonathan Guerin, Robbie Treacy, Padraig Landers, Ryan Farquhar, Eoin Brenner, Colm Landers.
Reds: Darragh O’Connor, Danny Cunningham, Paul Delaney, Richie Landers, David Kelly, Paul Kent, Tony McCarthy, Jamie Fogarty, Colm Treacy, Jack Flanagan.
Greens: George Sinclair, Aaron O’Connell, Robert Sinclair, Cian McDonald, Patrick Barry, Christian Coughlan, Remy Bernard, Darragh Buckley, Evan Lane, Padraig Mackey.

Our Under 12 indoor hurling winter season started on Monday last in Youghal GAA Hall, for boys from 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. Reports next week.
