Bride Rovers GAA Club News

Bride Rovers GAA Notes.

Waiting for Games.

We are still very much involved in the playing season though the Club AGM draws near. Our Minor Hurlers are to play Western Gaels in the County Minor Hurling league but our opponents are engaged in the County Minor Football championship final  this weekend.

In the East Cork Junior B Grade Football championship the situation is a bit more complicated. On Tuesday night last November the 5th Midleton were to play Castlelyons. The losers of that tie are to play Carrignavar on Sunday next Nov 10th in Watergrasshill.  The winners of that game will then play Aghada and whoever wins there will play us!

With mid-week games under lights now the norm we may be playing on the weekend of November 16/17th.

AGM on Friday week.

The Club AGM is on Friday week November 15th. A reminder that all nominations and Motions must be with the Club Runai by Monday next November the 11th at the latest.

BEST of Luck.

Best wishes to our u 15 hurling team who meet Grenagh in the County Final at the weekend.

ALL STARS.

The GAA All Star teams for hurling and football will be presented with their awards in Croke Park on this Friday night. Brian Murphy has been nominated for a position on the half back line, a nomination that was richly deserved.  Clare will dominate the Hurling selection with 13 of their All Ireland Winning team Nominated

Well Done Midleton.

Congrats to Midleton on winning the County SHC title last Sunday. They beat Sars in a thriller which was dominated by Conor Lehane. Well done Conor - Conor's father Matty played with Bride rovers for years when he live in the family home in Garrynacole and Conor's grand uncle Micheal Cranitch was a prominent hurler with Bride Rovers in the 1930's.
