Junior B Football.
Defeat at the hands of Carrigtwohill in the losers round of the Junior B football championship signalled the end of activities on the field of play for 2013.A poor first half performance that saw us behind 1.05 to 2 points at the break was ultimately to prove our downfall.
A rearranged team for the second half saw us come much more into the game and with just 5 minutes remaining we had cut the deficit to just 2 points 1.08 to 9 points.
A contentious refereeing decision denied us a blatant close in free that would have cut the gap to the minimum and to add insult to injury Carrigtohill scored their second goal from the resultant kick out. We battled gamely to the end but couldn’t break down the opposition defence for that all important goal and we conceded another point on the break to leave the final score 2.09 to 9pts.
A big thank you to the management team of Mick Kiely,Domhnall O Sullivan and Paddy O Sullivan and to all the players who gave 100% as always.
