Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship (Eamonn Fleming Cup) Carrignavar 2-07 Killeagh 1-13
Our junior hurling squad had an emphatic win in an entertaining match against Carrignavar in Round 3 of the Eamonn Fleming Cup. The valuable win was founded on a great commitment to this squad by the large number of eligible players who made themselves available to play the match. It was a terrific performance on the night with all the forwards contributing to the Killeagh score and all players working hard in defence and displaying some neat touches to avert danger from the opposition. Well done to all involved with the squad on a great win as they await completion of some fixtures before they know the opposition in Round 4.

JFL Division 4 Glenbower Rovers 0-08 Glenville 0-15
On Sunday evening 1/9/’13 Glenbower Rovers division 4 panel headed for the final league game away to Glenville, and, after three good wins in the league, confidence was high that we could end the league on a high note. However a number of players were unavailable due to a number of reasons. But there was a good turn out of 20 players.
We started slow and Glenville took the initiative and went in to an early lead, however we stuck to the task and worked hard to finish the half level on a score of 0-07 pts each.
We pushed hard at the start of the second half but the more experienced Glenville outfit took control of the match and they were able to pick off the vital scores while we struggled in front of goal. We finished disappointingly on the wrong side of a 0-13 pts to 0-08pts score line.
While disappointed with the loss and the second half performance there has been plenty of positives to be taken out of this league campaign where at times we played a very good attacking brand of football. We can bring these positives forward and go confidently into our first round championship outing against Aghada in Rostellan on Thursday the 12 /9/2013 at 8pm.
