Premier Intermediate Footballers take centre stage

Its back to championship action for the footballers this weekend as we face into our fifth championship game of the season. Glenvilles profile has raided considerably after two narrow victories over Carrigaline and Na Piarsaigh brings us to the Quarter Final stage where we face a tough task in Clyda Rovers. Clyda are the top side in this championship over the last few years and reached the Final on three concessive years in 2009 to 2011 so the experience they have built up from those campaigns is very impressive. They beat a highly rated Bantry side last weekend so the task ahead for this Glenville side is very difficult indeed. Of course they will be driven on by Paudie Kissane and Ray Carey. Glenville to date have been gaining in momentum and the recording of two sucessive narrow wins is always a great morale booster. At this stage of the championship its all to play for and Glenville will have to play mighty well to get over this extremely tough game.We have plenty experience ourselves with the likes of Noel o Riordan Paddy o Regan. The introduction of the likes of Willie Connolly Kevin o Neill brings a freshness to the side and we hope that their continued progress will be a big help to our side. The prize for the winner is a County Semi Final spot so the incentive for both sides is huge. Glenville will have to make do without a number of players for this game as the amount of championship games over the last few weeks is telling its toll with injuries. Killavullen is the venue and we encourage everyone to get behind the team who have put in a great effort so far to reach this point. The 16th man might be the differance !!
