Intermediate Hurling;
Drawn games in Sport always play on your emotions with thoughts of should we have won,we could have lost and the classic with x amount of time left we would have taken a draw if offered it.Last Saturday nights game from a Cloyne point of view falls under the last scenario as we came from behind to draw a game in which we never led over the sixty minutes.
For the neutrals in the large attendance it wasn't a game that will live long in the memory,a game that simmered along in its entirety without ever coming to the boil.
Youghal playing against the stiffening wind were fast out of the blocks with a point from the throw in a point that was cancelled out by a Diarmuid O Sullivan point from a great cross field pass from Ciaran Mullins,a score that could and probably should have been a goal.Youghal continued to force the pace and were full value for their 2 point interval lead 8 pts to 6.Ashley Walsh from play and 4 Diarmuid pointed frees made up our first half tally and we can count ourselves lucky that we weren't further in arrears as Youghal had missed chances from both frees and open play.
Colm O Sullivan was introduced at half time and he brought about an improvement in attack.Youghal scored the first 2 points of the half to open up a 4 point lead but this was wiped out by a pointed Diarmuid free and a fortuitous goal from another long range free.
Exchanges at this stage were frantic with Youghal with excellent points from play opening up a 4 point lead again but this crucially from our point of view was as far as they pulled away.Pointed frees from Diarmuid and a goal from a ground stroke by Diarmuid again with time almost up had us level again.Youghal pulled ahead again with another point from play only for Dillon Cahill to respond with an excellent score from the right touch line following a great pass from Donal Og in goals.
Half time sub Keith Dennehy had a great chance to put us ahead for the only time in the game but shot wide from a narrow angle.The resultant puck out saw referee John Sexton bring proceedings to a halt and we live to fight another day.
This wasn't one of our best performances but great credit is due to all for the way they never gave in and battled hard to the final whistle.

Inter County;
Congratulations to the Cork Senior hurlers on their fantastic victory over Dublin.A game and an occasion that was a pleasure to be at.The colour and noise generated by the Cork support was a joy to witness.This year definitely shows that its becoming a young mans game and this was borne out with Corks speed and skill getting them over the line.

Malin to Mizen.
You may have seen posters of the motley crew that are cycling from Malin to Mizen around the town.14 cyclists are doing the cycle at their own expense to raise much needed funds towards the new development.You can help by sponsoring a kilometre for only €10 which enters you into a draw for €500.
