East Cork Junior A Hurling Championship
Dungourney 1-17 Carrigtwohill 3-13

Words cannot describe our exit from this years hurling championship. On a perfect evening for hurling , we came into the game with high hopes of making it a 4th semi final appearance in four seasons, but by the final whistle goals proved to be the difference and we left Clonmult Memorial Park, Midleton, frustrated by a spirited Carrigtwohill team.
We opened brightly with points from Martin only for Carrig to hit back with
the first goal of the evening. Further points from Bondi, Ken and Martin saw us build an early lead which was extended when Darragh raced through to raise a green flag to give us an early lead of 5 points with 15 minutes played.
Back came Carrig though with 2 further goals and finished the half strongly with a series of points to go in at the half time break ahead by 3 points.

The second half saw us with a slight breeze at our backs, but Carrig settled quickly into their stride and had us in all sorts of bother. They soon had extended their lead out to 5 points. The game was being played at a frantic pace and both defences were working overtime. By now Ken Kelleher & Niall were operating at midfield and  were leading the expected comeback. Further points from Hego,Ken & Martin which were hard earned, had it down to a 2 point game with time running out. Attack after Attack and try as we might we could not get the all important goal to see us through.
That's it for another season as our focus will now turn to the U21 Hurlers,B & C Junior Teams.
