Junior A Hurling Championship this Friday vs. Erins Own in Riverstown at 7.30pm. We urge all people to come out and support the lads as the begin their hurling quest for 2013.

Junior Hurling League Divison 1 Section 2

Lisgoold 2-18 (24)
Ballygiblin 5-12 (27)
At Ballygiblin
22nd June 2013

A bad result for our juniors as they succumbed to a three point defeat in a very frustrating manner. John Cashman, Patrick O’Mahony, John McCarthy and Barry Ahern were some of the good performers for Lisgoold. A lapse of concentration at the start of the second half allowed the hosts to score 3 quick goals which settled the issue. Although one must admire Lisgoold for coming back so strongly and to close a gap that was at one stage eleven points to just three, one also be critical that at championship this simply must be not be allowed to happen.

However apart from that blimp it was a decent performance twenty scores was a fine return in the hour. We welcomed back Ciaran Cronin between the sticks after a long spell from injury, there was some positives from this match we all just hope the negatives will be erased come championship on Friday night.
