JFL Division 1

Lisgoold 2-13 (19)
Kilavullen 0-8 (8)
At Kilavullen
Sun 21st April 2013

Another two points were collected in a very lack-lustre affair ath the north cork venue. On a fresh Sunday afternoon in nice conditions we recorded a solid win over the hour. Impressive performances by John Cronin, Jerry and Brendan Flynn ensured we would take away the two points on offer. The task was made easier for as the likes of Denis O’Brien, Charile McCarthy, John Cashman, and Patrick O’Mahony pointed the way as Lisgoold soared to a good win. It was a very encouraging performance from our lads and we hope they can produce the same come championship.

JFL Division 4

Lisgoold 0-6 (6)
Cloyne 3-6 (15)
At Cloyne
Tues 23rd April 2013

Our second string made their first outing of the year in the football league in newly formed division four league. Some shining performances from John O’Shea, Bill Whelan and Eoin O’Sullivan who got the majority of scores for us. It was a nip and tuck for the majority of the match cloyne getting an early goal and held a slight advantage at half-time. However our lads couldn’t close that gap and some silly mistakes allowed cloyne to expertly take their chances, and deservedly the two points. It was their first outing, and they will have more days out, and will surely only get better as games go on.

JFL Division 1

Lisgoold 0-8 (8)
Erins Own 3-6 (15)
At Caherlag
Mon 29th April 2013

Our league campaign finished on a sour note as we got soundly beaten by Erins Own in a windswept paric Liosgcul. Erins Own soared to mass lead by raising the green flag three in the first half and seemed to ride the second half out comfortably. The second half was a formality as the men in red and blue collected the two points with ease. It was a very disappointing night for the blues, as we performed well below bar with very few players coming out with much credit. They battled to be fair to them throughout the game and did their upmost to close the gap in the second half. However with championship coming up next Monday, one can only hope that this was a one-off and they will able to produce a much better performance against glenville.
