Erin’s Own 0-3 Glenbower Rovers 3-10

We were well beaten in the quarter final of the East Cork Championship by Glenbower Rovers. We were forced to field a very depleted team for reasons beyond our control. The blustery conditions made life difficult for both teams with plenty of missed chances on each side. The Killeagh lads had the aid of the elements in the 1st half and were first to score. Diarmuid O Flynn equalised for Erin's Own and scores were scarce for much of the half with Stephen Aherne also scoring a point for Erin's Own. Killeagh were gifted a goal following a very poor refereeing decision on the stroke of half time and led at the break 1-5 to 0-2.

Erin's Own with the aid of the wind began the second half in determined fashion but could not get the scores to reduce the deficit to put pressure on Killeagh. As the half progressed Killeagh’s greater strength throughout the field allowed them to get the vital scores to put the game beyond Erin's Own.
