Intermediate Hurling;
For the second week in a row the hurlers took to the field in horrendous conditions with a cold wind coupled with rain the order of the day.The game was an intermediate league fixture away to Kilworth.Short a number of key players due to injuries,sickness and intercounty involvements we competed well in a tight first half and despite having the advantage of a strong wind we went in level at half time 6 points to 1.03.
The second half saw us play a bit better but we were unable to convert our chances and possession into scores.The defining moment in the game was the concession of our second goal following a defensive mix up,a score that was to prove vital in such a tight game.The final score was Kilworth 2.08 Cloyne 10 points.
Best for Cloyne on the day were Killian Cronin,D O Sullivan and Paul Sullivan.
Well done to the younger members of the squad who continue to get improve with the increased game time they are receiving.
Next up is a home fixture against Bandon on Saturday next 13th April at 6.30 pm.
