Intermediate Football;
The refixed intermediate league game against Aghabullogue took place in a bitterly cold Ballincollig on Tuesday night 26th March. Short a number of regulars we registered our fourth league victory of the season after a very satisfactory result and performance.
Playing with the slight wind advantage in the first half we were first to score with 2 Chris Smith frees and 2 great scores from play from midfielder Killian Cronin and full forward Colm O Sullivan soon followed to put us 4 points to the good.
On top in most sectors of the field we were finding it hard to convert our possession into scores but were rewarded with an excellent goal which was started in our full back line by Brian McCarthy and carried on by Killian Cronin and Colm O Sullivan before being finished neatly by Ciaran Mullins.This was our last score of the half and we were full value for our 1.04 to 1 point half time lead.
We started the second half as we finished the first by registering the first 3 points to put us 1.07 to 1 point ahead,a free from Chris coupled with 2 scores from play from the very sharp Colm O Sullivan.Aghabullogue to their credit didn’t lie down and began to whittle away at the lead with some well worked scores and by the full time whistle they had the score down to a 3 point deficit 1.07 to 7 points.Overall this was a very satisfactory result that see’s us top of the division before a 3 week hurling break.
Best on the night were Colm O Sullivan,Killian Cronin,Paul O Sullivan and Brian McCarthy.

Intermediate Hurling;
Meelin were the visitors on Sunday last for round 2 of the Division 1 hurling league a game played in Arctic like conditions with driving sleet and rain the order of the day.
Playing against the strong wind in the first half we struggled to create any clear cut scoring chances and our only scores were 2 Luke Cahill frees which bookended 6 scores from Meelin 5 of which were from placed balls to leave us behind 6 points to 2 at half time a score which wasn’t too disappointing considering the conditions.
Meelin made the better start to the second half with 2 quick scores and they scored a goal on 15 minutes when a delivery into the square was flicked into the net.Meelin were now in control leading 1.08 to 2 points and with the conditions not suiting our light young players they pressed on to win on the scoreline  of 1.10 to 5 points.
This was a disappointing performance but the elements were a major part of the problem and they seemed to suit the physically stronger Meelin players.
