Aghada GAA Club News

19 February, 2013

Both our Junior and Senior footballers were out at the weekend with mixed results

Sat 16th Feb Imokilly/Avondhu Div 1 Football league Aghada 3-6 Shanballymore 2-9

On Sat night we entertained Shanballymore in the opening Imokilly/Avondhu Div 1 Football league in a feast of goals.

Aghada opened the better and led all through the opening half going in at half time three points to the good.

On resumption the North Cork boys opened up a six point lead before Aghada pegged it back to level terms from a last minute point from Colm Power who ended up the scorer in chief.

On Sun Bantry Blues were the visitors, and having beaten us by the narrowest of margins in the last game of 2012 which happened to be the Div 2 league final we had plenty incentive by again we came a cropper by  in a close fought game final score Aghada 0-8 Bantry 0-9

Congratulations to Emma Farmer and Rosin Phelan who both played for the cork senior ladies football team in their win over Tyrone last  Sun 17th Feb
