Intermediate Football.
The first league game of the year took place in a cold and windy Pairc Criostoir Ui Rinn Cloyne on Sunday last against Glanmire.Playing with the elements in the first half Glanmire were first to score with a point from play. We responded in excellent fashion with Diarmuid O Sullivan getting on the end of an excellent passing movement to score our first goal of the year. Our ability to win and keep possession against the wind proved vital as we managed to hold Glanmire to one other point while we registered a further goal and 3 points to leave the half time score Cloyne 2.03 Glanmire 2 points.
The second goal was a carbon copy of the first with defender Brian McCarthy getting on the end of another excellent passing movement to score, the point scorers were Chris Smith from a free and a point apiece from Conor O Lomasney and Eoin O Sullivan, Eoins point in particular an excellent effort from the corner.
The second half continued as the first with our midfielders ensuring we enjoyed a lot of possession and picked off nice points from defender and Captain James Cotter, substitute Fergal O Brien and 2 pointed frees from Chris.
Overall a satisfactory start to the year, next up is a home league game v Fermoy.

Cardiac Screening;
The club in conjunction with Heartaid are organising a heart screening service for all players in the club. The service includes a GP examination a family and lifestyle questionnaire and an ECG with a consultant follow up if necessary. There is a small cost involved dependant on numbers. This is a service we in the club strongly recommend taking up as the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome in Ireland are on the increase.
