The junior B team took another major step in their pursuit of the championship when they defeated Erin's Own in Riverstown on Thursday night last in a pulsating match.

Dungourney got off to the worst possible start and were completely on the back foot for the first twenty minutes when Erin's Own were completly on top but the lads fought back and two goals from Timmy O Sullivan and Sean Hegarty and some well taken points brought us back within shouting distance at half time.Half time score Dungourney 2.06 Erin's Own 2.10.

The second half was a dog fight as Dungourney started to take control ,Sean Hegarty kicked a great goal and it was game on ,points were exchanged before Ritchie O Neill raised another green flag and we were ahead. The defense were flying now with half time sub Aidan Kelleher  storming into the match and Bill Ahern striking a lot of ball in midfield ,David Hennessy just on for Willie made a great save but was beaten by a great shot for Erin's Owns third goal.It was nip and tuck for the last few minutes but Dungourney held out for a great win and we now qualify for the semi final to be played against Sars on Sunday evening next.Final score Dungourney 4.12 Erins Own 3.13.

The second half was completely dominated by Dungourney and they scored four more goals scored by Eddie Smiddy, Pat Rigney and Brian Ronayne and with Alan Kelleher and John Cody dominating out the field they ran out easy winners on a scoreline of Dungourney 5.09 Erins Own 1.07.
