Over the past number of years our Juvenile club has struggled with numbers, culminating this year in being unable to field teams in a number of competitions. The second club in the parish Russell Rovers in Shanagarry have had similar difficulties with playing numbers at juvenile level. Both clubs have been in discussions for a while to explore the possibility of an amalgamation at juvenile level to form a parish team.
An amalgamation document has been produced by a working group from both clubs which has been passed by the club executives of both Cloyne and Russell Rovers.
An information meeting is taking place in the Cloyne School at 7.30 pm on Friday next 19th Oct to explain and answer any questions you may have.
Our annual registered members should note that an Sgm will be held on Thursday 25th October also in the school at 7.30pm to further discuss and vote on these proposals.
As this is a very significant move for our juvenile club we would urge as many people as possible to attend.

Junior B Football.
Our Junior B footballers played Carrig Na Bhfear in a preliminary round game on Saturday last in Lisgoold. The game was played in heavy showers of hail that made ball handling very difficult and this was borne out by the low half time score of 4 points to 2 with Carrig na Bhfear ahead.Maurice Walsh with an excellent score and Ritchie Daly were our scorers .
The second half saw us struggle and our cause wasn’t helped when we went down to 14 men midway through the half, our only score in the half was a Brian Ring point which saw us lose out on the scoreline of 1.07 to 3 points.
