Senior League;
Unfortunately after last week’s defeat against Bride Rovers the show must go on and we have 4 games to play in the Red FM sponsored Senior Hurling League.
The first of these took place on Sunday morning last at 11.30 am in Church Road against Blackrock.
With just the bare 15 on the day we produced a very creditable performance that saw us lead at half time 1.08 to 3 points.The highlight of the half was a great individual goal from the excellent Paudie O Sullivan and some well taken points from Diarmuid O Sullivan and Dillon Cahill.
The second half began as the first had finished with 2 points from play  to put is into a commanding position.Blackrock to their credit raised their game and an unanswered goal and 3 points brought them back into contention.
Try as they might they couldn’t breach the Cloyne defence that was excellently marshaled by Brian Fleming and Eoin O Sullivan until he received a leg injury and retired to the goalkeeping position.The remaining minutes of the game saw us pick off a few points the pick of them an excellent score from the freed goalkeeper Ashley Walsh.The final whistle from referee Cathal Egan saw us ahead 1.14 to 1.10 and 2 more league points in the bag.
Next up we play Midleton on Tuesday 25th August at 6pm in Midleton and games against Erins Own and Bishopstown to come to fulfill our league schedule for 2012.

Junior Championships;
At the time of writing we don’t have any fixtures for the Junior B football or Junior C hurling championships,watch the notice board and locally for these fixtures.

Well done to the U12 Cloyne ladies football team that won their first East Cork Title on Sunday night last in Shanagarry.Ladies football is experiencing a great wave of participation around the country and it’s no different in Cloyne and its great to see their efforts rewarded with this victory.
