CASTLEMARTYR GAA NOTES

DUNGOURNEY EDGE OUT CASTLEMARTYR IN THRILLER

Dungourney..................................1-11

Castlemartyr..................................1-10

After a tough hours hurling, only a single point separated fellow parishioners Dungourney and Castlemartyr in this JHL Div 1 Round 1 clash.

Both sides showed some nice flashes of hurling throughout, and there was an abundance of passion and commitment on display during the game also. Both defences were on top which was to be expected due to the soft underfoot conditions. The sides were level at 5 points apiece at half time and the second half proved to be almost as close, but the home side did enough to have their noses in front at the full time whistle.

Best for the Reds on the day were Adrian Bowens and Brian Smiddy who hurled majestically throughout.
