Senior Challenge.
Following on from our win over Carrigtohill in our last league game the team travelled to Lismore on Tuesday night last to take on the locals in what turned out to be a very worthwhile exercise.
Both teams were short a number of regulars but in an entertaining game we held on to win by 2 points on a 16pts to 2.08 scoreline.

Junior Hurling;
The Junior hurlers continued their preparations for the upcoming championship game when they played Carrignavar on Monday night 9th July in Div 2 of the hurling league.
We fielded a strong team boosted by the return of Luke Cahill and Robbie Jermyn from their rugby exploits. Luke in particular turned in an excellent performance scoring 3.06 from play ably assisted up front by James Lynch and goalscorer Edward Jermyn.
The defense also played their part in this victory marshaled excellently by Ian McCarthy, David Jermyn and Eoin Motherway.
The final score read Cloyne 4.12 to 1.11.

On Sunday 15th we headed to Castlemartyr to take St Itas in round 2 of the East Cork championship. The game was played on the old field in Castlemartyr due I suppose to the recent wet weather and Sunday was no exception with the rain arriving on cue just in time for the throw in.
The first half was a tight affair with scores at a premium; the highlight of the half was 2 excellent saves from our goalkeeper Kevin O Lomasney and 2 from the Itas keeper to ensure the half remained goalless. The half time score saw us winning by 3 points 8 points to 5,a lead that didn’t seem to be enough as we had played with the help of a strong wind.
We came out for the second half in determined fashion and scored the first two points to increase our lead to 5 points,try as they might St Itas couldn’t reduce the lead below this due mainly to the excellent defending of our defensive sextet.We ran out worthy 5 point winners 14 points to 9,this was an excellent team performance from 1 to 17 in very testing conditions and our reward for this victory is a meeting with neighbours Midleton.

Div 3 Hurling League.
We continued our busy week of fixtures when we welcomed Castlelyons to Cloyne for a div 3 hurling game on Wed night 11th July.A very fit and young Castlelyons team ran out winners 2.15 to 2.06.Best for Cloyne on the night were the evergreen Philip Cahill, Maurice Cahill and Michael Cremin.

Intermediate Football;
Carrigaline were the visitors to Cloyne on Thursday night 12th July for round 6 of the division 4 leagues. This was our first football game since our championship game v Aghabulloge and our last game before our round 3 game v Kilavullen so it was vital that we got a good performance. A good performance is exactly what we got playing a lovely expansive game of football peppered with excellent scores.It was a night that everything we tried seemed to come off and a feature of the game is that the whole 4.13 scored came from play,best on the night were Conor O Lomasney,Mickey Walsh,and goalscorers Diarmuid and Colm O Sullivan.
Next up for the team is the vital round 3 game v Killavullen on Wednesday night and if we can replicate this performance it will take a very good team to beat us.
